Summer Reading Fun

Hopefully we are all enjoying some summer relaxation. Now is the time to read those books that have been put aside during the busy school year. Grab a book, find a comfortable chair and enjoy!

Oh I love the summer relaxation pace which allows more time for reading. I have been enjoying a new author-Karen Kingsbury. She writes Christian fiction and I recently finished a second series of hers called the "Redemption" series. Gary Smalley collaberated with her on this particular series.

A reading commentary blog.. a nice idea for your kids?

IF you are teaching any kids with severe reading difficulties, check out Fast Forward. Even if not, you should see what they are saying about the connection between brain research and reading. It really resonated with me!

Great idea! Giving people to talk about what they are reading or are reading together gives a different take on the concept of a book club.

We should all pick a fiction book to read and discuss it hear. Nothing to deep like what we are reading in class.

On the way home.. I had a long trip, remember, I read the complete book Flags of our Fathers.
It was both a quick read, a good historical book, and had some deeper aspects, I liked it.
OH.. .it's about to be a major motion picture directed by Clint Eastwood too. Check out this site for the synopsis of the story and movie.
